Hello,
I have a 2 m (6 ft 7 in) wide and 4 m (13 ft 1 in) long home office. Can I install a 2.20 m (7 ft 3 in) long click-lock rustic plank flooring, cut down to 2 m (6 ft 7 in), by laying the boards end to end with no stagger, so running the length of the room? Would this be unstable or look unattractive? The flooring would be installed perpendicular/parallel to the window.

A smart non-professional always ensures their own work is done safely. This means following established best practices, the manufacturer’s installation guidelines, the general contractor’s instructions for new builds, or whatever applies.
The professional is liable for any mistakes they make. However, a non-professional will be held strictly responsible for damages... and it won’t help to point out that Karl from NRW wrote in the housebuilding forum that it’s okay to do it that way.
It’s comparable to a major engine failure in a 550d, which can easily cost around 35,000 euros. Of course, a 550d can—and should—handle going 20,000 km (12,400 miles) between oil changes instead of the 15,000 km (9,300 miles) recommended by BMW. But the car doesn’t care. Nor does it matter that Kalle from Poland said in the 5 Series forum that “oil changes every 15,000 km are outdated and unnecessary.”
The non-professional ends up paying for it... Klaus from Flensburg in the forum? He’s not liable for anything...

xMisterDx8 Aug 2023 01:19By the way... you are an expert, not a layperson. Are you legally responsible for the statements you make in this forum? I’m genuinely interested in your answer...
You are also, to some extent, active in the industry... does that create a conflict of interest?
When the banker says, “Yes, go ahead like this, no problem…” the layperson does it wrong, and later the banker says, “You fool, that’s not what I meant… but I’m happy to offer financing for the renovation…”
Or alternatively, a high three-figure Amazon gift card? 😉
It’s all a bit questionable… well… the only person whose selfless commitment here I believe is 11ant… as a professional. The rest are just talking nonsense...

You are, somewhat, working in the industry No, very closely involved. xMisterDx schrieb:
