Maybe someone here can help or recommend something, as our home builder currently doesn’t seem to have a solution.
Here’s the issue:
Our utility room also serves as a secondary entrance and a mudroom, so there is essentially a patio door acting as a side entrance with a lockable handle that can be opened with the front door key. However, it has a flat handle installed so the roller shutter can run past it and fully close down to the floor.
Due to its design and the main use of the door, the handle wears out quickly and has already needed replacement within 1.5 years because it stretches and loosens so fast. So sooner or later, another failure is pretty much inevitable.
Our home builder doesn’t have any advice or seems unwilling to deal with it anymore, probably because there are more profitable ventures.
Maybe someone here has a suggestion for a solution?

The tilt function is already needed, otherwise I would have to install additional ventilation. The small utility room already heats up a lot because of all the technical equipment.
I have now found window handles that have a bigger projection so the spindle sits deeper in the frame, but at the same time don’t protrude so much that the roller shutter can’t pass. The current problem is that I only find these in UK shops.

Depending on the size of the window opening, it is also possible to install a top-hinged window element. However, clearly, a less invasive approach would be the better option. In the UK, the dimensions might not match exactly, especially the frame size. So, be careful about that!

The only downside is that there is no roller shutter in front of the window.
Just order it from the UK if the dimensions fit. If necessary, you might have to pay customs duties or similar.
