Hello,
I am currently planning a PC desk that I would like to build.
However, I have a few questions regarding its stability.
Specifically, my plan looks like this—unfortunately, the pictures are no longer available.
The desk on the left is a Linnmon 150x75cm (59x30 inches) with two ALEX drawer units and one ALEX top unit.
At the window, there is a Linnmon 200x60cm (79x24 inches) supported by five simple ADILS legs, although the fifth leg is not shown in the drawing. It is located roughly halfway at 1 meter (3.3 feet) and will support the desk in the middle.
The red circles indicate holes with a diameter of 6cm (2.4 inches), drilled using a hole saw.
The green circle is also a 6cm (2.4 inches) hole; the color has no specific meaning.
My question is: Will this setup still be stable enough?
I have seen videos where drilling through a Linnmon surface does not seem to cause any problems:

I have changed my mind and decided against the Linnmon tabletop.
Instead, I will go with something sturdier, which is actually 30 euros cheaper in price because the shipping costs are only 6.99 euros (about $7.50), instead of 29 euros (about $32).
I think this is a good choice!

And it should certainly be able to support the Power Manager as well?

IKEA-Freund30 Jun 2016 20:29A 2-meter (6.6 feet) particle board will sag if you don’t take any measures against it, even with a thickness of 38 mm (1.5 inches). At the very least, you should provide a support at the wall at the appropriate height. However, such a particle board is definitely heavier.

IKEA-Experte30 Jun 2016 21:24Yes, that should be fine. I believe the €6.90 shipping cost is a system error. "The delivery cost for parcel shipping is €6.90 per package (weight up to 30 kg (66 lbs), size up to 168×60 cm (66×24 inches))." This will surely be corrected soon.
Hey everyone,
I have decided on the SÄLJAN countertop

and now I'm planning a bit more.
The countertop will be supported on the left and right by two Alex components. In the middle, I will attach two legs. Which type of attachment would be the most suitable to support the weight? Option A or B?
My other question is: If I want to shorten the countertop on one side, it will create an unattractive edge. I've heard that this kind of edge is usually finished with something called an edge band. I have looked into how this works (using an iron). But where can I get this? Does IKEA also sell it? And what color do I need—would plain white be enough? I’m sure there are different shades of white or something like that! Could you share a link? *Puppy eyes*
