ᐅ Incorrect light switch installation

Hello,

what should I do now? The inspection was on Friday, and on Sunday I realized that a light switch was installed completely in the wrong place.

When entering the room, you first have to walk around the door frame to reach the light switch...

And no one noticed it. Not until today. 🙁

By accepting the handover, you agreed to the house – except for the issues that were identified and documented in writing during the handover.

You can try negotiating something with your general contractor as a goodwill gesture; however, I find it hard to imagine that they will reposition the switch at their own expense. There was enough time to notice the "wrong" placement of the switch...

Is it possible to reverse the door swing? I think it would be less work to change the frame and the door leaf than to relocate the wiring?!

If there is a building plan, there will always be someone who cannot or does not want to read it.
