Hello everyone
Yesterday, I assembled the new Pax wardrobe. I wanted to install the "Komplement" light strip inside. So I did – the light strip can be switched on and off. However, there is a small issue. I wanted the light to come on when sliding the door open and turn off when the door is closed again. The light strip has a small switch that can be set to on/off (both work) or to Auto. But the Auto function doesn’t seem to work for me. Have I overlooked something important, or is the sensor in the light strip defective? How does the sensor actually work (touch, light, motion, etc.)? The manual didn’t help me much either, but maybe someone in this forum knows about it.
Thanks in advance for all responses and best regards

Unfortunately, neither the Ikea hotline (whether it works or not) could tell me what might be causing this or what the sensors are reacting to, nor could the specialist from the lighting department (she was very nice, and we also tried a few others there – but none of them worked properly).
The LED light flickers and turns on and off when the cabinet door is open, without any apparent reason.
Maybe someone else has an idea.
Best regards,

IKEA-Experte16 Apr 2013 14:31Have you tried shining a lamp directly onto the sensor as a test to see if it still switches on and off?

polo_355116 Apr 2013 14:40With one LED light strip that works, nothing happens (it is either on or off), but with the one that flickers, one sensor does nothing, and with the other, the light turns off when you shine on it. What does that mean?
I have now found a way to bypass the light strip issue when the light does not automatically turn on upon opening the cabinet door.
You don’t even need to use spacers for sliding door cabinets!
The LED strip must be installed inside the cabinet, facing towards the back. At the front, there are two small “eyes” (probably sensors). They are covered by a small plastic piece, about 1 cm² (0.15 in²) in size. If you carefully remove this plastic piece, you can adjust the “eyes.” You need to position them towards the cabinet door, and voilà, the light will automatically turn on and off.
Unfortunately, I didn’t find any information about this in the instructions. I only discovered it by chance when I was about to fully remove the light strip and accidentally slipped with a screwdriver, catching the plastic piece—and the light suddenly worked.
Best regards
