Hello,

unfortunately, a tradesperson has damaged my floor (see pictures).
The floor was sanded and re-oiled 2 years ago.
What are my options to remove the light spots?

Thank you very much for your tips and experiences.

How did these light spots occur? What could be the cause?

Yes, what was the reason for these spots to appear? Is it plaster or something similar, paint, or could it be some kind of etching, meaning something deeper?

It was probably a plasterer or painter who didn’t cover the area properly. Gypsum (alkaline) can damage parquet flooring.

Maybe try applying some oil to a small spot with stains (50cm x 50cm (20in x 20in)) and see if the result is satisfactory, since oil saturates the parquet. This way, the white spots might disappear... Just do a small test and observe.

Is it only in certain areas or spread all over?

Best regards,
