Hello,
I am currently trying to solve a problem in our guest bathroom. Contrary to the original plan, the light connection for the toilet was installed on the wall instead of the ceiling, directly above the washbasin. A mirror is supposed to be installed there.
The bathroom is very small, only 2 sqm (22 sq ft).
Do you have any solutions for this issue? Would lighting from a mirror with built-in illumination be sufficient? Do you have any experience with that?
I have attached a picture of the bathroom. Unfortunately, the light connection is not visible. You can roughly see where the light comes from. At the moment, there is a bare bulb holder installed.

I wouldn’t want to miss the ceiling light in the guest toilet (the mirror is still missing though) – photo taken from the floor looking up That’s definitely cool and very unique. However, your setup is quite complex; nowadays, there are much simpler solutions. But as everyone else has said, a light on the wall is usually more than enough. In hotels, for example, ceiling lights are rarely used anymore. Lighting is almost always mounted on the walls or attached to furniture.

Reading this thread unsuspectingly, you get a bit of a shock when it suddenly hits you that the guest bathroom actually has two light outlets (ceiling, wall). And you start wondering what to do with both outlets in such a small room?!
@Müllerin how is your unused ceiling cable stored? Is it just hanging there, or cut back very short?

There are these small white caps for that, just in case (That’s probably not the technical term) …but everyone knows what they are
