Meiereika29 Jan 2015 17:38Yesterday, my bed frame (manufacturer: Rauch; 140cm (55 inches) wide) was assembled.
Afterwards, I put together the slatted bed base Leirsund (two-piece, 2x 70x200cm (27.5x79 inches)) by myself.
In the end, I unfortunately noticed that the slatted frame is about 1 to 2 cm (0.4 to 0.8 inches) too wide for the bed frame.
Strangely, my mattress from IKEA (Morgedal, also 140cm (55 inches) wide) fits perfectly in the bed frame.
Therefore, the slatted base must have incorrect dimensions, right?
What should I do? I can’t afford another trip to the nearest IKEA and I just want to finally sleep in my proper bed after a 10-week delivery time.

IKEA-Experte29 Jan 2015 19:51As far as I know, IKEA slatted bed bases labeled as 70 cm (28 inches) wide are actually 70 cm wide, while other manufacturers often make them, for example, 69 cm (27 inches) wide. This difference can cause non-IKEA slatted bases to fall through IKEA beds. You might want to search for user experiences to see if this is true.
