Hello,

I installed an LED ceiling light. Previously, there was a halogen lamp that could be dimmed using the switch. Unfortunately, the LED light does not work. Could the problem be the dimmer switch? When I connect the LED ceiling light directly to a regular power cable, it works perfectly!

Thanks for your help

Yes, it is the dimmer. Leading edge or trailing edge phase control. There are many reasons why it might not work. LEDs in particular can sometimes be tricky.

Thank you for your reply. So, does that mean replacing the dimmer switch with a standard push-button switch?

Either that or, if you want to dim, look for a suitable dimmer.

Just to be sure: Was that a 230-volt halogen lamp? There isn’t a transformer in between, is there?

Yes, 230 volts.
The LED lamp itself is already dimmable via remote control...
