..... coordinate with the plumbing company?

Bringing your own materials won’t be installed because of the warranty.

How have you handled this, or how would you handle it?

Generally, have the main contractor’s plumbing company do the work and then arrange for the replacement yourself afterwards?

I don’t think replacing a toilet bowl is really that complicated?

Thanks!

Do it now or wait many years.
The connections never fit perfectly, silicone residues, and so on.
Not to mention that you pay twice.

Yes, exactly, let's get it done right away. Just talk to the plumbing company. With our general contractor, there was only Bathroom A or Bathroom B for an additional 3000 euros (about 3200 USD), no mix and match possible. So we went straight to the plumber and chose the bathtub directly with them. It was no problem at all.

For example, we decided not to include 2 toilets and 2 washbasins, which I believe resulted in a credit of about 1,200 euros. I then purchased Duravit DuraStyle washbasins for around 500 euros, exactly as I wanted them—rectangular with no visible mounting. Bathroom furniture with a washbasin and a base cabinet cost about 1,000 euros. The same goes for the bathroom fixtures; I don’t remember the exact amounts, but we ended up choosing Grohe Euro Cube, which are nicely squared. I think these are the kind of things you can easily install yourself.

Just don’t let the general contractor install something and then replace it afterwards. Proceed as described by Tomtom79 or Tina.

We were not interested in building with a general contractor first and then sourcing and installing the sanitary fixtures ourselves. The additional costs for ordering individually from the wholesale supplier were acceptable, and we don’t have to worry about anything.

However, the furniture will come from the carpenter. The two base cabinets (one under a single washbasin, one under two washbasins) were priced together at over 7,000 euros at the wholesale supplier. We just had a quick laugh and then crossed that option off. They can easily be added later without any coordination needed.
