Today I noticed that cold drafts are coming through the gap at the roller shutter box cover. With the strong gusts of wind today, you can also hear a constant whistling sound.
According to the infrared thermometer, these spots are only 14°C (57°F), while the indoor temperature is 21.5°C (71°F).
Is there any way to seal this gap?
The windows and roller shutters were installed exactly 2 years and 1 month ago. Unfortunately, this means I am out of the warranty period.
Windows have a 5-year warranty, but unfortunately, the sun protection only has 2 years. 🙁

Alessandro21 Oct 2021 16:34Don't we just close the cover with a tongue and groove joint? The box is lined inside with 2cm (0.8 inches) of polystyrene, which should be sufficient for thermal insulation. But a gap is still a gap 😉

But a gap remains a gap 😉Yes, that’s how it is with ours too. (I’ve had to remove them several times for replacing the pipe motor, etc.) 😎However, the tongue and groove is only on the front of the long piece; the two shorter sides on the right and left and the other long side should rest all around. This way there can be no drafts through that gap.
Additionally, our covers are screwed all around—that is, on all four sides.
