Can someone tell me who carries out this inspection? According to the information in the building permit / planning permission application, a certificate of competence must be provided. What does that mean and what are the costs?

Also request our sewage disposal before the official connection. It costs around 300€ and was handled by the general contractor (GC, in our case the shell builder). Additionally, a camera inspection of the sewer pipe is even required in our case, so consider yourself lucky that you don’t need that too.

I honestly think that was the most worthwhile money ever spent!

Shortly before pouring the screed, we noticed that a coupling had come loose… just imagine… first time using the sink, and then...

I’m also glad we did the blower door test, even if only for peace of mind.

A blower door test is inexpensive and reveals defects. I would always recommend doing it.

In our area, the municipality requires an inspection of the wastewater systems every 10 years. We are also located within a water protection zone. The companies carrying out the inspections must be certified and perform the check according to a specific standard. It cost about 300€ and took 2 hours.
