Hello everyone, I need to lay underground cable and paving stones for about 1.5 meters (5 feet) in a corner of the garden.
I have already removed the paving stones and planned to dig 60 cm (24 inches) deep, but the problem is I hit concrete after just 10 cm (4 inches) along the entire length.
Also, the gardener laid the underground cable and the lawn, but the depth is definitely not 60 cm (24 inches). I estimate it’s about 20 cm (8 inches).
My question is, does anyone have any ideas or tips?

Maybe use a rigid conduit?
Or a Fränkisches M25 conduit? I have some leftover from construction.

I’m concerned that if I break up the concrete, the edging stones won’t hold properly. Also, then I would again face the problem of connecting to the garden (lawn) area.

Thanks

Best regards

Paving stones do not require a depth of 60 cm (24 inches) and are probably 30/40 cm (12/16 inches) wide? Then place the pipe 20 cm (8 inches) further away. Just avoid using concrete.

The bricks are 20cm (8 inches) wide and 8cm (3 inches) high, and the underground cable needs to pass underneath for about 1.5m (5 feet) in length.
Currently, I have worked on the concrete with a rotary hammer and made a trench about 30cm (12 inches) deep and approximately 5cm (2 inches) wide, but going much deeper will be really difficult.

Would you recommend laying the underground cable directly in sand there, or would it be better to place a rigid PVC conduit around it?

Why don’t you simply lay it 30 to 40 cm (12 to 16 inches) away from the edge into the ground? If you forget about it at 20 cm (8 inches) and want to plant something there later, it’s better to run it through a conduit. It’s a minimal cost, and in case anything happens, you’ll hit the conduit and won’t damage anything.
