Hello.
We have recently built a new house, and now we are working on the garden. The lawn area is about 400m² (4,300 sq ft).

The plot used to be a meadow; the topsoil was present and has been spread out.

Now various weeds are growing...

What is the proper way to proceed? How can I remove the weeds before laying the lawn? Please keep in mind the large area...

I would be very grateful for detailed tips and tools!

Thank you! Good luck

Digging over the soil. The best fertilizer.

Yes... But the area is too large! 400-500 sqm (4300-5400 sq ft)

Please provide more detailed tips.

Area too large? You don’t have to dig manually, just get the appropriate machinery.

I initially mowed nearly 1,300 sqm (14,000 sq ft) of area at the lowest setting to cut down the weeds, then tilled the soil using a rented rototiller. After that, as usual, I raked it smooth and seeded.

I did it similarly to ntsa86. First, I cleared everything with a brush cutter and then had a local farmer loosen the soil properly with a plow and harrow. It worked well, and he also leveled it out nicely.
