Doreen33Hello,
Our construction company is currently working on the interior finishing of our house. The screed has already been laid.
When were you able to start your own work on flooring installation (tiles/click vinyl)? Of course, before the kitchen is installed and before our staircase is built. We would like to start as soon as possible.

Screed drying generally takes about 6 weeks. I would recommend installing the flooring only after the contractor’s workers have left, to avoid any disputes later if there are scratches or if someone walks on freshly laid tiles too early.

Normally, a general contractor wants a final inspection before such major electrical work is carried out.
The fact that the interior doors are still to be installed does not really stand in the way of this.
I specifically had a partial handover, because I still had electrical work and exterior plastering to be done.

However, you need to be very sure that you can complete this on time; otherwise, you might disrupt the construction schedule, which can also lead to higher costs.

I would recommend installing the flooring only after the contractor’s tradespeople have finished, to avoid any disputes later if there are scratches or someone walks over newly laid tiles too soon. The CM measurement will be done by the main contractor in the next few days. Thanks for the information.
