Hello,

we have purchased a house with a 500sqm (5400 sq ft) plot and are currently busy renovating. The property also includes a decent lawn area. We now need to buy a lawn mower. Do you have any recommendations... petrol, battery-powered, or corded electric? And if so, why? I don’t want anything fancy, just a practical tool to get the job done. Budget is max 300€.

Is there perhaps a great model you can recommend?

Thanks and best regards

I'm not a big fan of the Worx brand. I would rather wait for the autumn clearance sale. That's when these tools are often heavily discounted, sometimes up to 50% off. Gardena and Husqvarna are definitely great brands.

You read a lot about this. Electric is more environmentally friendly but might not have enough power, plus there's the cable. Battery-powered tends to be more expensive, and how much is really known about the battery life? Power?

Gasoline is good for large areas, possibly more maintenance? But stronger.

The device should definitely be able to collect leaves as well.

Thanks for your input.

As others have already mentioned, I would also go with a robot. You will need to adjust your budget a bit more.

Gardena, Husquarna are really great devices.
Gardena units are currently failing in large numbers; since the acquisition by Husqvarna, they have become the cheaper offshoots. This is the observation from another forum.

Husqvarna is definitely top quality, but he wanted to stay affordable.

And Worx, the last two model years have been very good for the price and offer more features.

I find it annoying that Gardena requires a gateway. We only use Husqvarna. Therefore, I can say very little about the other manufacturers, at least I don’t have any long-term personal experience with them.

What do you think about the Husqvarna LC 141C?
