Hello,

I am new here and hope to receive great suggestions regarding my question.

In my basement, I want to set up a lockable room of about 6 sq meters (65 sq ft) as a drying room for laundry. The room has a small, foldable light well window measuring approximately 25 x 60 cm (10 x 24 inches). The room is not directly heated; normal air supply comes through the adjacent rooms in the basement. The room faces north and is part of a mid-terrace house.

I want to dry laundry here and obviously need an exhaust air system. Initially, I considered a ventilation control based on the dew point inside and outside. After research, this appeared too expensive for me. A dehumidifier would consume too much electricity. Now I am thinking of replacing the small window with an acrylic glass pane and installing an exhaust fan with a feedback system similar to a Cata e 100 gth. This fan would activate based on relative humidity.

Is this plan realistic without risk of mold growth, or are there concerns or other ideas?

Thank you very much.
