Hello, does anyone have a price indication for installing large-format tiles measuring 1.20 x 2.78 m (4 x 9 ft) in a bathroom? A tiler is asking for 200 EUR/m2 (about $215 per sq ft) including adhesive just for the installation. All other work (drilling holes, sealing, etc.) is listed separately.

This is really just a rough estimate to help assess whether the offer is reasonable. Postal code area 5, Eifel region. Thank you very much!

Of course not – the "off limits" category is not even established in the market and certainly not competitive.

The offer is not necessarily unreasonable just because it’s a flat rate (by area) rather than based on effort (time). For installation only, with breakage risk borne by the client, the price is reasonable – anything lower would be dumping. Travel costs from the Rhineland district would be additional; such specialists are rarely hidden away in the Eifel itself. A request for "off limits" also comes with a "carte blanche" price expectation.

Indication.... Price indication... Medicine meets the stock market...

Are you referring to a craftsman’s service offer?
The craftsman can charge whatever they think the service is worth. To assess the service regionally, it might be very useful to get another offer from a different tradesperson. That’s how it has always been done 😉
For such a huge scale, I would probably also multiply the standard effort by 3!

The price is absolutely reasonable. You probably meant THE tilers, as for that size it’s more likely three to four people will come to you.

If you were to check online, then...

It cost me about the same.

1 master craftsman
1 journeyman
2 apprentices.

It was really hard work for the team... they had to go in over the scaffolding because the tiles didn’t fit through the stairway.

I would pay it again; I don’t think the tile setters were overpaid.

Do you have any pictures of what it looks like in the end? I really can’t quite imagine these tiles.
