Hello, I have a question:
Does anyone know approximately the cost of installing large-format floor tiles?
Specifically, the floor tiles are 80 x 80 cm (31.5 x 31.5 inches).

In our "package," there is a price of 50 euros per square meter (around 5.25 square feet) for installation (excluding tiles), and now we have to pay an additional 30 euros per square meter for the larger format. This means that without tiles, the installation cost would be about 80 euros per square meter. Is that realistic?

I was expecting around 60 euros, but 80 seems quite high to me. Or am I completely mistaken?

Thank you,
Hilaria

By "parquet," I mean that with a general contractor, for example, the bathrooms come with 40cm x 40cm (16 inches x 16 inches) tiles with a material value of €25 (or whatever) included?

I can't tell you anything about the installation prices, but you could simply ask a local tiler.

Have you ever held a tile like that in your hand? They are quite heavy, and the cutting work is also very demanding.

Do you mean a package?
So, the 50 euros do not include tiles; that price covers only the installation work plus adhesive. The tiles are extra. The standard includes 40x40cm (16x16 inches) tiles for installation.

Of course, tiles are heavy and obviously there is an additional cost, but not another 30 euros, right? That means we would end up paying 80 euros per square meter.
If you calculate that as an hourly wage, it means about 1 square meter installed per hour... I think that’s quite a lot.
Checking with the local tiler, the price was 35 euros for "normal" sizes plus a maximum of 15 euros for oversized tiles. Unfortunately, the tiler hired by the building contractor doesn’t seem to care about that...

Hello!
At least this is a consistently carried out cost calculation. If the 50 euros come from labor and materials (adhesive, silicone, joint mortar) in a 30 to 20 ratio, that is actually quite reasonable and only accounts for the additional 30 euros per square meter (sq m) for the extra worker.
If the contractor now also realizes that using 80mm (3 inch) tiles around external corners, etc., will be quite challenging...
There is little to say about fairness – in a large room, this is easy money. In a small, awkwardly shaped room, he might actually lose out.
Oh yes, regarding the alternative offer – I’m familiar with those statements. It’s 35 euros plus... plus priming, plus filling, plus sanding, plus border trim, plus diagonal installation, plus more and more.
Best regards,
