Good evening,

We received some conditions with our building permit because our site is located in a Zone 3 water protection area.
Regarding item 2.2.3, we are required to carry out a leak-tightness test. I’m not entirely sure what exactly is tested, when, where, and to what extent.
Our house builder installs four outlets for wastewater beneath the foundation slab. After that, we need to find someone to connect these four outlets in a loop and then link them to the transfer shaft.

My questions:
How is this test carried out exactly?
Who covers the costs? And what are the typical expenses?
Between which points must the system be leak-tight?

Best regards,
Mars

In short, you seal the pipe at the lowest point and fill it completely with water. After 30 minutes, there should be no loss. Specialized construction companies have the necessary expertise and can also provide a test report. Only the respective company can give you the costs. For new builds, this is not very critical since all areas are still accessible.

@Vicky Pedia Thank you, the approach was correct.

I looked up all the abbreviations and standards. In simple terms:

When hiring the contractor, it is important to ensure that they have the proper qualifications, materials, and trained personnel for excavation work within a water protection area. All buried pipes must meet certain specifications, and finally, a pressure test (around 250€) according to DIN EN1610 must be carried out.
