PyneBiteHello everyone,
I need your help again.
As you may have already read ( https://www.hausbau-forum.de/threads/das-Projekt-Eigenheim-beginnt.34624/ ), we finally secured a plot of land (number 3 at the top right on the plan).
Since Saturday, we have been trying to figure out which house type fits our plot best. The plot is basically south-facing, but a large green strip on the east side reduces the usable space significantly on the west side.
Our preference is to have a large garden to the south and west to enjoy the sun on the terraces for as long as possible. If I were to fully use the building area at the top, for example, with 11 x 8 m (11m frontage on the northwest side), then there would be no space to place the double carport. There is also hardly any space to turn a vehicle around.
In the long term (18 years), we will need 4 parking spaces (2 loosely in front of the house would be sufficient). Should we plan for all of these now?
My wife suggested either going for 9.5 x 9.5 m or 8 x 11 m, where the 11 m sides would be located on the northeast and southwest.
What ideas would you have? We are basically planning about 130 sqm of living space for 4 people.
Unfortunately, we cannot assess the placement of the carport/parking space in relation to the layout. Therefore, I would appreciate your advice.
Thank you and best regards

Wow, your crystal ball is impressive The son is already here, and the daughter will hatch soon – since we are located in a fairly rural area, having four cars is quite likely.

Carport then as boundary construction in the driveway extension.Do you mean a long carport where two cars are parked one behind the other?
There is only 5 meters (16 feet) distance between the northern boundary and the building envelope. I have read that a double carport requires about 6-7 meters (20-23 feet) in width.

Here is a carport 7 x 7 meters (23 x 23 feet) and a house 11 x 8 meters (36 x 26 feet):
