Hello everyone!

We have very affordable click-lock parquet flooring in our living room, but unfortunately, our dog is very active and the parquet has really suffered quite a bit. We want to replace it, especially since the color no longer fits at all, and now we’re wondering: which option is better at a comparable price?

-> High-quality laminate (use class 33)
-> Click vinyl flooring

I’ve heard a lot of good things about vinyl in terms of scratch resistance, but in the end, it will probably be significantly more expensive per square meter (square yard), right? What do you think?

Thanks in advance and best regards,

Hello

Friends have laminate flooring in their house.
I wouldn’t want to have the clicking sound of our dog’s claws running over laminate inside the house.

...oh, in my opinion, the noise level is not the issue. I know several people who have laminate flooring and also dogs.

I'm actually concerned about the topic of "scratching."

So, some friends of ours have a dog and chose vinyl flooring because of that.

Of course, it’s a bit more expensive than laminate, but the floor shows hardly any scratches, and if you also care about aesthetics, vinyl is definitely the better choice.

Even PU coatings on PVC flooring will sooner or later not withstand the demands of pet claws (laminate flooring surfaces even less so).
So, whether PVC in sheet form or as planks, choose only light-colored designs because scuff marks are easier to conceal compared to darker designs!

I find laminate flooring too slippery for dog paws; ours would constantly slip on it. Besides, I couldn’t stand the noise laminate makes. Vinyl is definitely quieter, so I would prefer that.
