Hello everyone,
Let me briefly introduce myself:

My name is Tobi, I am 37 years old and married.
Now to my problem.
In December 2006, we bought a Kramfors leather sofa. Now, about 2 1/2 years later, the polyurethane coating applied to the leather is coming off. It feels sticky and no longer looks good.

Does anyone else have this problem? I have read a lot about it on a blog, but unfortunately, I have not found any useful information regarding exchanges or complaints, if that is even possible since it’s older than 2 years.

Other models are advertised with a 10-year warranty, but unfortunately not this one.

Thanks in advance

Tobi

It turned out well after all...
In 3-4 weeks we will get a new Kramfors...

Sorry, I overlooked that in a hurry...

We are experiencing the same issue with the peeling Fräsig coating.

We bought the set in August 2007 in Vösendorf (Austria) at the Fundgrube outlet. At that time, the Fundgrube was full of brand new, unused Kramfors Fräsig parts.

The sellers said there was a product change and that the series was being cleared out.

Now that the coating is peeling on our set as well, we visited IKEA a few days ago — but were only offered free disposal. We couldn’t believe it ourselves, but apparently, the offer was serious.

Outlet items have no warranty, only a one-year statutory liability period, and no goodwill options are available.

Reading here that this problem was already known for some time at the moment we bought it makes IKEA’s response very frustrating. Despite our previously positive experiences with IKEA, our view has completely changed.

I need to get in touch again after a long time.

After we inquired about the chemical composition of the coating, IKEA suddenly agreed to replace the sofa. We agreed that we would receive a credit for the original purchase price to put towards a new couch – up to that point, we were still satisfied. Unfortunately, almost everything went wrong during the replacement process – here are the steps so far:

[List:264jfe49][*:264jfe49]1st attempt – Delivery to the old address, even though the address had been double-checked[/*:m:264jfe49]
[*:264jfe49]2nd attempt – Shipping company arrives with a pickup order but no goods[/*:m:264jfe49]
[*:264jfe49]3rd attempt – This time with a pickup note and delivery note – but the goods were forgotten[/*:m:264jfe49]
[*:264jfe49]4th attempt – Couch is delivered, old couch taken away
But: 1 part of the couch is wrong (a two-seater instead of the right-side connecting piece), and the cover on the 2nd part is damaged[/*:m:264jfe49]
[*:264jfe49]5th attempt – Incorrectly delivered part is exchanged, damaged cover is picked up[/*:m:264jfe49]
[*:264jfe49]Today’s call – the cover is no longer available
