ᐅ Combination stove for barrel sauna and additional roof covering wanted

I want to treat myself to a barrel sauna for Christmas and have already chosen the model. It will likely be an outdoor barrel sauna about 3 meters (10 feet) long, made from Canadian red cedar.
It comes as a kit and without a heater.
Now I would like to buy a suitable combo heater for both heat and steam (bio sauna), but I have no experience with sauna heaters. Until now, I’ve always just used saunas operated by others ;-)
I would like a simple control system that is preferably remote-controllable (so I can preheat the sauna, for example, from my office).
The sauna has an interior volume of about 7.5 m³ (265 cubic feet) (approximately 2.4 m (8 feet) long inside, diameter just under 2 m (6.5 feet)), so I thought a 6 kW heater would be enough? What are your opinions on this?
The sauna will be placed on a small terrace made of ceramic tiles, plus there will be a path made from the same tiles so I can walk from the sauna to the terrace (and then to the house) without getting my feet wet.
The manufacturer says additional covering for the sauna is not necessary but definitely useful. The usual bitumen shingles look extremely unattractive to me, and besides a small pitched roof as an alternative, I don’t have any good ideas :-( (and I also find a pitched roof visually unsuitable for a barrel sauna).
Does anyone have a nice idea for this?

Although I’m a bit late to the discussion, I doubt the sauna will stay watertight for long in rain and snow without an additional roof. A wine barrel is only watertight if it’s always filled, and it’s not kept in the rain, especially not turned sideways. Any roofer can install a metal roof in various materials, but it won’t be cheap. You can put flat roofing membrane on if bitumen shingles are not desired. This membrane is gray. Hello,
the sauna is already on its way and should arrive next week. For those interested: I actually got it for just €3300 (including delivery) 😉
It’s a kit, made of cedar wood, 3m (10 feet) long externally and about 2.4m (8 feet) inside, plus a small "terrace" in front. Diameter is approximately 2.1m (7 feet). The sauna stove will probably be 9kW (since more energy dissipates outside and I prefer it rather hot). I have currently chosen the Harvia Kubic. Membrane roofing is out of the question. The sauna is meant to be a “showpiece.”
I have already spoken with a professional company about a metal roof. My dream roof would be a barrel vault made of aluminum (in the “Rimova style”).
Most likely, though, it will be one made of self-adhesive metal shingles. I’m still researching what is sensible and feasible.
A wooden shingle roof, also made of red cedar, costs nearly €1000 (material only). I could see that working well too…
Take a look at large sheet metal processors, some offer online services, for example in Eitorf—Google will quickly find them. You can also have aluminum circular segments pre-bent and delivered, with large pieces up to 2.5 m² (27 ft²) in one piece. The price is reasonable, possibly a good alternative.
Have you already installed and used the sauna?
On our control panel, there is also a switch for the fan. Since we don’t have a fan, I connected an ambient light to it.
I opened the power unit and connected the light to the fan terminals.
This way, we can now control everything from the outside as well.

...Unfortunately not, nobody seems to have time right now :-( ... But it is promised to be set up by December 29 at the latest (assembly of the sauna without electrical installation)! Whether it will then be fully connected and operational is still unclear... ??? But these days, you learn to be patient 🙄However, I found suitable sheet metal for it. I spoke recently with a friend who knows about this. You just need to know the right term to search for. It’s called “bombinated sheet metal.” Try searching for Nissenhäuser + sheet metal. You’ll find results. Basically, it’s corrugated sheet metal bent across the corrugation, which provides excellent structural stability. It costs about €900 for 9m² (97 ft²) of 1mm (0.04 inch) aluminum sheet. Steel sheet would be cheaper, about €600 (but without transport). I will have to drive 200km (125 miles) there and back with a trailer (company Achenbach). But that will probably happen next year...
So, tomorrow the foundation will be laid and the day after, the sauna will be assembled.
But I still haven’t bought the sauna stove yet :-( I’ll clarify my preferences and maybe someone can give some advice. I won’t have time to visit local suppliers until the week after next...
A 9kW stove, preferably with a modern, stylish design (hanging or standing, either is fine). Not a combo (BIO) stove, regular steam is enough for me.
External control unit, ideally with the option to operate it via an app (the electrician just recommended not fully cutting off or turning on the power using a 3-phase 40A contactor, as neither he nor I know how the control unit would react to that).
Of course, I’ll share pictures once it’s finished...
