we are removing 40m² (430 sq ft) of tiles, of which 15m² (160 sq ft) will be retiled (kitchen) and the rest will be covered with laminate flooring (living and dining area).
So my questions are:
Is there anything I need to consider when installing laminate?
There is underfloor heating embedded in the screed. At Toom, they recommended Knauf’s Faserflex self-leveling compound, which is suitable for underfloor heating. Other stores either don’t carry it or recommend different products.
Does the compound have to be suitable for underfloor heating? Do I need to level the floor where the laminate will go, or is something else sufficient?
Are there any special considerations for impact sound insulation?
Sorry for all the questions, this is my first solo construction project, and my father would do many things differently, but I’m not sure if that’s correct.
Thank you very much for the help.
Best regards, Manuela
