ikea-Huhn18 Jan 2017 13:59Hello everyone,
I have a Kivik 3-seat sofa and would like to extend it on one side with a recliner so that the combination becomes a 3-seat sofa with a recliner.
Is it possible to do this afterwards, or can this only be done if you buy the combination as one piece directly?
Does anyone know about this?
Best regards,
Mareike

IKEA-Freund18 Jan 2017 14:47You can purchase a chaise lounge separately. Take a look at the instructions; to me, it looks like a modular system. The chaise lounge available individually has the same part number as the one in the sofa-chaise lounge combination.
It might be more relevant to check whether the covers are dyed exactly the same (or if your existing sofa might already be slightly faded).

IKEA-Experte18 Jan 2017 16:48At an age of 4-5 years, it is always possible that something has been changed. Therefore, compare with the assembly instructions to check if the fastenings are still the same or in the same positions.
