Hello everyone,

I bought a house and a new kitchen will be installed soon, but unfortunately the radiator is in the way and needs to be relocated, which is not a problem in itself. The question is where to put the radiator. One wall is free, but knowing my wife, cabinets will probably be placed there over time, and then the radiator will be in the way again.

Since we also want tiles, I thought about installing an electric underfloor heating system to replace the existing radiator. We don’t want to be cold in the kitchen, but it is not heated as much as the living room, and we want to protect against frost. I thought the electric underfloor heating would be sufficient. Unfortunately, connecting it to the gas heating system (at least I think so) is not an option for cost reasons.

Another option would be to hang the existing radiator behind the door, which will be removed, but I think this does not make much sense either because the heat will then dissipate into the hallway.

Maybe you have suggestions or ideas or would like to share your thoughts on this topic, thanks 🙂

P.S.: If anyone has experience with electric underfloor heating, are the cheaper ones any good and how many watts should they have? I would also like to install tiles and electric underfloor heating in the hallway, both areas are about 9 m2 (97 sq ft). How many watts would be needed if I go ahead with this? Thanks!

Leave out the radiator, and that’s fine.
Cooking in the kitchen will generate enough heat.

We are considering it, thank you.
