I would like to hear your opinions on whether the current planning is roughly okay.

How will the refrigerator be integrated/covered?

I would extend the countertop around the corner near the bar stools. That way, you would have additional prep space, since I find there isn’t much around the sink and cooktop.

What I would personally miss is a surface close to the oven. This would be useful for placing a hot tray to cool down, as well as for setting down items that won’t go into the oven right away. The advantage is that it doesn’t interfere with your main workspace.

With a kitchen width of 285 cm (112 inches), you could easily design the countertop to be deeper than standard. For example, 75 cm (30 inches) instead of 60 cm (24 inches), with correspondingly deeper base cabinets underneath. The 3-3 drawer configuration for the base cabinets should be reconsidered. You usually don’t have that many tall items, and accessing items in drawers (assuming internal drawers) always requires two hand movements.

Where is the dishwasher located? To the left or right of the sink? Placing it on the left would be recommended. Also, try searching for base cabinets with integrated waste sorting systems.

I would definitely recommend making the countertop deeper. It provides a noticeable increase in workspace and storage space in the base cabinets. This is highly advisable.

The funny thing is, I have a single-wall kitchen with the same width of 4 meters (13 feet) and 80cm (31.5 inches) depth, and it’s arranged almost exactly the same way. From left to right: dishwasher – 60cm (24 inches) sink cabinet – 40cm (16 inches) base cabinet with waste sorting system – 60cm (24 inches) base cabinet – 90cm (35 inches) cooktop – 90cm (35 inches) base cabinet. I have plenty of room and ample workspace.

Regarding the organization of drawers and pull-outs: do a storage planning! This is essential to determine how much space you need and how it should be used.

How will the refrigerator be integrated or enclosed?

I think the side-by-side refrigerator won’t have any enclosure. According to the plan, there is a special recess in the wall for it. Personally, the missing enclosure wouldn’t bother me.

Toaster, kettle, etc. will be placed on a pull-out shelf inside the tall cabinet. The stand mixer will be on the countertop.

Is this a special request for your kitchen or a standard feature? Which kitchen manufacturer offers this?

The design looks quite successful. An 80cm (31.5 inches) depth for the countertop will bring you more satisfaction. The bar stool area can be useful for social cooking – I can easily imagine a coffee station there, but it does require space. The boxed-in section of the tall kitchen unit takes up a lot of room, but it can work as a design feature. Are those two oven appliances stacked on top of each other? I find that arrangement rather impractical – side-by-side placement usually works very well. Make sure the large refrigerator has good ventilation at the back, as heat buildup shortens its lifespan and reduces efficiency.
