I hope you can help me. I would be very grateful for any advice!
Number of people: 1, myself, 196 cm (6 ft 5 in) tall, and maybe someday a second person, who knows :-)
I need a new kitchen (my first ever). So, I’m looking for tips from you. The kitchen should go up to the ceiling so I have less cleaning to do :-)
I would like a standalone refrigerator (because there are more models available).
Attached are two versions I received—what do you think?
I would have the refrigerator standalone, but I prefer the upper cabinet in the second version because it has the same depth as the fridge.
Now, a problem is the cabinet door mechanisms. In the second version, only regular cabinet doors are installed because:
1. My kitchen goes all the way up, and supposedly Blum door mechanisms (e.g. AVENTOS HF) don’t open upward in such cases—unless you remove about 10 cm (4 inches) from the top (leaving a strip that is all white and non-functional), then it would open normally, but that’s not ideal because 2. it might be difficult for a shorter person to close the door again?
I find it practical when the doors open upwards because I’m tall and I’ve always had problems hitting my head on them...
So I need some advice on what options are available.
Another “problem” is that I want an island/bar/table in my kitchen with drawers.
As you can see in the pictures, in Option 1 there are chairs on one side and drawers on the other. The problem is, I would like at least 5 people to fit at the table for dining (for family visits) and maybe 6-7 people for poker nights or when I have more friends over.
I like the look of the table in Option 1, but it would need a system on the other side to extend the tabletop (see picture below) or some other idea?
In Option 2, the table is oval, which seems to allow more people to sit around it...
These are my main “issues” for now. After that, I would also be interested in which cabinets/drawers I need.

Is there a floor plan showing the relevant secondary rooms?
Room dimensions?
Is it an older building or a new build? Is it possible to make changes to the walls?
An island is nice for working if you have a view. Facing a wall is not ideal, if there is an alternative.
You can sit at an island workspace for a coffee, but it’s not suitable for planned social gatherings. That is not productive. Overall, I see the small kitchen area as a functional apartment kitchen, but I’m not sure if all this fuss is necessary for a standard 3.30m (11 ft) space.
It does seem that the room has real potential for a cook’s kitchen...
