Hello everyone,

We are currently in the middle of building our house, and today the foundation slab was poured. At the beginning, when planning the kitchen, we roughly indicated to the architect where the sink should be located. Now the drainage layout has been implemented in the foundation and the pipes have been installed. Last week, we visited the kitchen planner and realized that the drain needs to be about 30 cm (12 inches) further to the right (when standing in front of the sink). According to the construction management, a floor buildup of 22 cm (9 inches) will still be added (underfloor heating, etc.).

Do you think it would still be possible to move the sink drain 30 cm (12 inches) further to the right?

Thanks for your help

Yes, that is possible. It only becomes tricky if the base cabinets meet exactly at the drain location, but even that can be managed.

It's absolutely no problem to solve that behind the base cabinets.

Do I understand the plan correctly that the connection/pass-through is actually located under the (drywall?) wall itself? If so, that's not a problem at all. The pipes can be rerouted within the wall as needed. For the kitchen installer, the connection can then be positioned with millimeter precision in the exact right spot.

I would reconsider swapping the dishwasher and the sink. I would prefer to have more countertop space next to the stove. These are 60cm (24 inches) cabinets, right?
