Hello everyone,

We are building a house with Allkauf Haus and are currently facing a difficult decision.

As is well known, most Allkauf Haus homes include a kitchen in the price. This is a kitchen from the Impuls brand with Miele appliances.

We can have this planned either via email or directly on site in Brilon (a 2-hour drive).

Key details: L-shaped kitchen (2500 x 2550mm (98 x 100 inches)) in IP1200 (the lower price range), with Miele appliances except for the range hood.

We already know this wouldn’t be sufficient for us. Not least because we want a U-shaped kitchen. Also, the finishes in IP1200 will likely need to be upgraded to something better. In addition, wall cabinets will probably be added.

Yesterday we visited Küchen-Staude in Hannover and had a kitchen designed according to our preferences.

Key details: Culineo kitchen in U-shape (3200 x 2000 x 2000mm (126 x 79 x 79 inches)) with vintage oak fronts and a countertop in lava stone look. Equipped with high-quality appliances worth around 7,000 euros. The centerpiece is the Gutmann range hood (which we would also need to buy separately for the other kitchen).

Final price: 12,500 euros including measurement, assembly, and installation (which is not included with the other option, so mistakes could cause problems).

Now we are considering what to do next. Does anyone have realistic experience with kitchen planning from Impuls? Maybe even in a setup like ours?

Discarding the Impuls kitchen doesn’t make sense since we wouldn’t get any credit for it. However, we could keep the appliances and sell them individually, then put that money into the kitchen we want.

Thank you very much.

I’m glad to see so many comments in such a short time.

I think we were simply caught off guard by the kitchen planner yesterday. Our main goal was first to explore the options and find the best placement for the appliances. Being asked to sign right away definitely took us by surprise. Especially since the foundation slab isn’t even in place yet.

I’ll take the suggestion on board and have the kitchen from Impuls and the kitchen from Staude both planned out.

We won’t need the kitchen for at least another 8 months. So why decide now? What do you think?

Regarding the question about kitchens included with Allkauf houses: no, they are not always included, but with good negotiation, you can sometimes get a few extras thrown in.

Keep the comments coming—I look forward to your replies.

As I said... first plan with intuition, and then you will know what was really given away.

Hello,
another idea that I would implement by now:
Plan a small kitchenette in the utility room with a sink, a freezer instead of a refrigerator, and one or two tall cabinets for storage.
Possibly also integrate a washing machine and dryer.
This looks better than any utility sinks and cabinet fronts. And it hardly costs you anything. Appliances that are no longer needed can be sold or installed as backups for birthday parties or similar events in the utility room.

We had considered that as well. Although the house is 160 m² (1,722 sq ft) for the two of us, the utility room is only just under 8 m² (86 sq ft). The ventilation system, water heater, and other small items all need to fit in there. It will be tight.

Maybe for the shed, which is at least 18 m² (194 sq ft).

Here is a rough idea. I quickly put this together using an online planner.

Kitchen with wooden front panels, dark countertop, sink on the left, microwave, stove, and refrigerator.

Modern U-shaped kitchen with wooden cabinets, sink, stove, extractor hood, refrigerator, microwave, blender

There are quite a few weaknesses in your planning

-corner sink
-corner cabinets (no dead corners)

I hope it’s not too late yet
