Hello everyone,

We are building a house with Allkauf Haus and are currently facing a difficult decision.

As is well known, most Allkauf Haus homes include a kitchen in the price. This is a kitchen from the Impuls brand with Miele appliances.

We can have this planned either via email or directly on site in Brilon (a 2-hour drive).

Key details: L-shaped kitchen (2500 x 2550mm (98 x 100 inches)) in IP1200 (the lower price range), with Miele appliances except for the range hood.

We already know this wouldn’t be sufficient for us. Not least because we want a U-shaped kitchen. Also, the finishes in IP1200 will likely need to be upgraded to something better. In addition, wall cabinets will probably be added.

Yesterday we visited Küchen-Staude in Hannover and had a kitchen designed according to our preferences.

Key details: Culineo kitchen in U-shape (3200 x 2000 x 2000mm (126 x 79 x 79 inches)) with vintage oak fronts and a countertop in lava stone look. Equipped with high-quality appliances worth around 7,000 euros. The centerpiece is the Gutmann range hood (which we would also need to buy separately for the other kitchen).

Final price: 12,500 euros including measurement, assembly, and installation (which is not included with the other option, so mistakes could cause problems).

Now we are considering what to do next. Does anyone have realistic experience with kitchen planning from Impuls? Maybe even in a setup like ours?

Discarding the Impuls kitchen doesn’t make sense since we wouldn’t get any credit for it. However, we could keep the appliances and sell them individually, then put that money into the kitchen we want.

Thank you very much.

Impuls Kitchens used to be part of ALNO, and now they belong to the Steinhoff Group. They are positioned between entry-level and mid-range.

Culineo is not a kitchen manufacturer but a private label of the VME furniture partner network, which is affiliated with Wellmann. Wellmann produces for ALNO in the mid-price segment.

The front you chose is probably from price group 1, plastic fronts with a melamine resin coating. In this respect, Culineo is a good choice and offers a solid kitchen.

I would still have the Impuls planned to match the Culineo (better fronts, U-shape with tall cabinets) and then compare the additional cost.

Culineo offers carcass heights of up to 78cm (31 inches) in a 6-unit grid, while Impuls provides up to 72.2cm (28.4 inches) in a 5-unit grid, resulting in significantly more storage space.

Sure—of course, taking all pros and cons into account.
But just ignoring the "free" kitchen isn’t ideal either—it’s probably easier to understand when you see in black and white that the "free" kitchen, even when custom designed, still ends up costing about the same as the Culineo.

Oh, so is it usually the case with houses like those from Allkauf Haus that kitchens are included? I don’t want to assume anything if that’s the case, but I could imagine that they might not necessarily install high-quality kitchens, yet you still have to pay quite a bit, or am I mistaken?
