Hello,

I have a small issue with my kitchen planning. I need to arrange the base cabinets around a corner. I’ve tried many different options, but in the end, I will only have about 50 cm (20 inches) of space left. Around the corner, the depth continues at 37 cm (15 inches). This means that on one side I need to bridge about 13 cm (5 inches), and on the other side, there must be a few centimeters of clearance so that the drawers can still open.

Do you understand what I mean?

How is this usually solved professionally?

Doesn't that look cheap? In our current kitchen, the filler strip meets another filler strip, so the cabinet fronts start or end accordingly beforehand...

If you also install the small trim strip at the same height as the front, I think it looks better than a trim panel set back by 10cm (4 inches). Of course, this is always a matter of personal preference.

When the alignment strip meets or ends at the front panel, how is moisture protection handled in that area? Since the edge is cut, can it be sealed or treated in some way?

You can apply edge banding, seal the joint with (colored) silicone, or search for "sealing MDF"...

I don’t want to start too many threads... If I have three 60cm (24 inch) cabinets and the corner cabinet is 7.5cm (3 inch) longer, will a 246cm (97 inch) countertop be enough? That would give me a total width of 247.5cm (97.5 inch).

How long will the other side be? Will it be an L-shaped kitchen or a U-shaped kitchen? How are the countertops going to be joined?
