Hello,

We are currently planning our kitchen.

Since it’s a big and unclear jungle and it’s hard to compare everything, I wanted to ask for your help.

We believe that when you go to a showroom and don’t exactly know what you want or need, you might end up paying too much.

I wanted to ask which kitchen brands are good in terms of quality and durability, without being excessively overpriced.

We basically want a mid-range kitchen for our house.

Kitchen cabinets: Nobilia or Nolte kitchens (please suggest other good brands that meet our criteria).

Kitchen appliances: Neff, Bosch, Siemens, or which appliance brands would you recommend? The appliances should have good functions and offer comfort.

Sink: no idea.

I hope you can recommend good brands for cabinets, appliances, and sinks based on your own positive experiences.

Maybe there are also kitchen builders among you who can provide advice as well.

For me, it wouldn't be an option to spend more money on a less practical mechanism that offers less storage space, which is also harder to access.
It's funny how "my" kitchen is defended here again.
If you don't use the corner, you have less storage space, no matter what "great" cabinets are placed next to it.
If the kitchen is of good quality, then so are the carousel, the Le Mans pull-out, the pull-out pantry, etc.

I’ve had both: a corner carousel where you have 15cm (6 inches) of front space on each side in the corner (so it “gives away” space and brings the carousel forward to 75 x 75cm (30 x 30 inches)) and the Le Mans corner cabinet at 60 x 120cm (24 x 48 inches). In both cases you lose the corners, but you get more pots and pans stored because these are round as well. When I put my pans in a 60cm (24 inches) cabinet, nothing fits next to them except a small 18cm (7 inches) pot. I even posted a photo of my fully packed Le Mans cabinet here in the forum.

You can choose whatever you want. But in most cases, it’s the worse option. With a blind corner, the cabinets on the right and left can be wider than with a corner carousel. That means you get extra width across multiple storage levels, while a carousel usually has only two levels. Also, a carousel is generally more expensive than wide pull-out cabinets. But everyone can decide for themselves. For me, it wouldn’t be worth spending more for a less practical mechanism that offers less storage space, which is also harder to access.

Well, instead of the carousel, I could take a 100cm (40 inches) cabinet instead of an 80cm (32 inches) one. So I have three drawers that are 20cm (8 inches) wider. And that’s supposed to be the better solution?
With the carousel, besides the extra 20cm (8 inches) in width, I’m also using the entire corner space. You can easily store 10 pots and pans on it, or kitchen machines, or whatever. You just can’t achieve that with wider drawers.

So unfortunately, your statement is wrong in most cases. Of course, you can do whatever you think is better.

P.S. For your information, the carousel doesn’t have much of a “mechanism.” It’s simply two rotating shelves. And on top of the corner cabinet—which you’d need in some form anyway—the carousel costs an additional €69. Yes, only €69. Broken? No problem, I’ll just buy a new one. Inconvenient? Just open the large door of the cabinet, bend down slightly, and reach in. Not less practical than the bottom drawer in a standard base cabinet.

I didn’t “need” the carousel either, but I definitely didn’t want to waste the corner space.
