As a home builder, we always strive to be closely aligned with the wishes and ideas of our customers. After all, building a house is usually a once-in-a-lifetime event.
An important aspect of planning a house is the kitchen as the family’s central gathering place.
We would now like to know from you: Which layout do you prefer? An open kitchen with a view of the living/dining area? A closed kitchen with a spacious dining/play area for the whole family? Or a completely different option — for example, a large kitchen island as a social focal point?
We look forward to your ideas, wishes, and experiences, which we will take as inspiration for our work.

@ypg: Parsnips are great; we prepared them in three different ways at our Christmas dinner with friends three weeks ago.
Regarding the comment on the use of space in the kitchen/dining area, this is exactly the kind of feedback I was hoping for. We definitely don’t want it to look like it was awkwardly or poorly planned once it’s finished.
That’s why the first official task in the new year will be to reduce the utility room; its space should be sufficient anyway, and it can handle being 30–40cm (12–16 inches) smaller—basically what is currently planned to the left of the door. Only the laundry chute will need to be relocated.
Since the structural engineer hasn’t started work yet, this change should still be possible.
Good luck and happy holidays to everyone!

Regarding the comment on the use of space in the kitchen/dining area, this is exactly the kind of feedback I was hoping for – the finished result shouldn’t look cramped or awkward.
For this reason, the first task in the new year is to borrow some space from the utility room, which should have enough room and can handle a reduction of 30–40cm (12–16 inches) – basically the area currently planned to the left of the door. Just the laundry chute will need to be repositioned.
But since the structural engineer hasn’t started working yet, this should still be possible.
Good luck and happy holidays to you all!Great! Take as much space as possible from the utility room – the rear freezer section can afford much less.
Then place the fridge next to the other tall cabinet (note that a side-by-side fridge requires more clearance for the doors).
That should work out.
If you have any other parsnip recipes besides the mentioned puree, roasted vegetables, or soup, please share!
