As a home builder, we always strive to be closely aligned with the wishes and ideas of our customers. After all, building a house is usually a once-in-a-lifetime event.

An important aspect of planning a house is the kitchen as the family’s central gathering place.

We would now like to know from you: Which layout do you prefer? An open kitchen with a view of the living/dining area? A closed kitchen with a spacious dining/play area for the whole family? Or a completely different option — for example, a large kitchen island as a social focal point?

We look forward to your ideas, wishes, and experiences, which we will take as inspiration for our work.

I agree with that as well.

Are the areas around the table drawn with a depth of 1 meter (3.3 feet)?
I don’t find the distance to the glass problematic, as long as it is fixed glass.
The space to the island is quite tight; this only works if the chairs can be pushed in closely or if they are the type that fit completely under the table. We have rather relaxed "armchairs" at our dining table, and when pushed in, they still stick out by 60 cm (24 inches). You need to know what kind of seating you want. The 1 meter (3.3 feet) is definitely comfortable for sitting down, but as a passageway, this path is no longer usable when someone is seated there.
The 36 cm (14 inches) on the left end facing the gray object is really a problem. What is the gray box? Is it important or heavily used? (Just to anticipate: if this is meant to be the refrigerator, I find that very unfortunate for both the fridge itself and the surrounding seating areas).
When the table is fully occupied, it will be difficult to reach your guests, neither from the top nor from the bottom. The worst spot is the person on the left end facing the gray object; no one will want to sit there willingly.

If it is supposed to be a side-by-side refrigerator as well, the door swing direction of the refrigerator compartment is very impractical, as it is not even oriented towards the kitchen. Therefore, the side-by-side refrigerator would be better positioned at the beginning of the row.

For an island row, 100 cm (40 inches) should also be sufficient.

Thanks for the responses, all completely understandable.
Our chairs almost completely tuck under the table, so there is space when no one is sitting there. When we have a cooking event, the seated group is arranged on the chairs not directly at the island, which I think works well. The table is 90cm (35 inches) deep, and the gray unit is indeed the refrigerator.
The idea is to avoid long distances both when setting the table and during cooking.
I believe what’s important is that the table is shown here extended and will likely be moved a bit further to the right; the chair at the end is more “parked” there when not in use. You could also place three chairs on each side, but that will become clear once the house is built.
My concern was about the space between the kitchen island and the glass front.

I would position the island and the row exactly close enough so that two drawers can open simultaneously without touching each other. However, the island is too small for my liking. We need significantly more space next to the cooktop. I wouldn’t leave the corner with 36cm (14 inches) as it is.

The refrigerator is located completely separate from the food preparation area and becomes quite disruptive when sitting at the table. It should be placed within the work zone. The distance between the kitchen counter and the bar should be a maximum of 100 cm (39 inches).

How deep is your kitchen exactly?
We only had 570cm (224 inches) and I couldn’t fit the kitchen as planned, like Willo’s.
We had to be more creative, and now I’m very happy with the situation.
Since yours also looks to be about 550cm (217 inches), which in my opinion is too tight for a nice island plus a great dining table, I’m sharing it here.

Don’t be surprised: the fridge is at the top of the plan, and the island has a standing area on the right side of the plan.
