Hello everyone,

Like many others, I am building a new house and sooner or later I will need to plan the kitchen as well.
In my current rental apartment, I have a standard fridge-freezer combination stacked vertically (80cm (31.5 inches) wide), a ceramic cooktop, and a combined oven with fan.
I also use countertop appliances like an electric kettle, sous-vide stick, microwave, vacuum sealer, and a food processor (Bosch).

I cook regularly and enjoy trying new recipes but haven’t really looked into new appliances yet.
I should also mention that I am planning an outdoor kitchen with a grill station and deep fryer, so while indoor grilling will still be an option, it can be done outside as well. The frying will definitely be outside due to the smell.

But what would you say is so great that you absolutely need to have it?

Cheers

80s/90s induction cooktop with FlexZone(s)
Very high-quality extractor hood (we even fry underneath it, so there are almost no odors in the house)
Two ovens – with multiple kids, almost a "must." Temperature up to 300°C (572°F) for pizza on a pizza stone was important to me as well.

Everything else is nice to have (steam oven, warming drawer for dishes, etc.). A good blender = Thermomix or similar.

I no longer want to be without my Thermomix and fully automatic coffee machine.

Likewise, my induction cooktop with flexible zones and an oven with pyrolytic cleaning.

Besides that, I would like to have a Quooker.

What is a good brand for that? Berbel? I have planned to have an exhaust system since there is unfortunately no window in the kitchen area.

The two most used appliances we have are the Quooker with Cube for cold and sparkling water.

No more appliances on the countertop, no more carrying bottles, etc. Fantastic.

Honestly, if you consider the stove and oven as given, then from my point of view, the dishwasher is the only essential appliance. Nothing else. I have owned a microwave, steam cooker, food processor, slicer, juicer, and you really don’t need them. Often, they are just more things to clean and that can break.

A kettle with adjustable temperature is quite useful for tea drinkers. But other than that, it’s all just unnecessary gadgets.
