Hello,

We ordered 2 empty conduits, and I am unsure if they were installed correctly...
Attached is a photo from an early stage of construction.

1. I have read that KG pipes should no longer be used for this purpose.

2. Part of the pipe was built over with masonry. It looks a bit odd. Is this correct?

I’m not a building expert. If I were yours, you probably would have given me plans to compare with the actual situation. From just the photo, all I can say is that yes, it does look odd. The plans should indicate why someone decided on this and whether it is correct at the current location. I would have expected the pipe to end completely before the wall. But we don’t know what is supposed to run through it, and so on. Many questioners have strange expectations about our crystal balls.

Of course, this installation is not correct, as pipes that partially come out from under the wall do not serve their intended purpose. However, if you only want to thread a few cables or something similar through there, it might be less problematic. In our case, it was built similarly, and we simply added a small bend to the pipe and that was enough, since it was located in the utility room and hidden. I don’t see any issue with the type of pipe used. As @11ant already mentioned, some background knowledge is necessary for this.
