ᐅ KfW70 now only possible with a heat pump?

Hello everyone,
a few months ago, we had an initial meeting with a construction manager/developer. Together, we discussed a KfW70 standard house (for funding reasons) with a gas boiler and solar thermal system. It was said to be no problem.

Yesterday, the statement came from the responsible architect, who is also officially listed as a KfW consultant (see KfW website), that her program/calculator shows our desired KfW70 house would only be achievable with a heat pump. If we still want a gas boiler with solar thermal, we would need to make some "adjustments" to the windows (something to do with noble gas filling).

I always thought a KfW70 house consumes only 70% of the energy of a reference house, which, in my understanding, is reflected in the insulation. Are the heating systems also compared in their specific energy consumption?

I think that is quite optimistic, because in my opinion, it wouldn’t have been sufficient without a ventilation system anyway.

I don’t think the “improvement” of the windows will work either, in my opinion...

It also depends on when you plan to submit your building application. From January 1, 2016, the reference house corresponds to the current KfW 70 efficiency house standard. However, you can still apply for KfW 70 funding until the end of March 2016. It is crucial that the online application is received by KfW by that date!

Well, that’s how beliefs are…

The calculation considers the building envelope and the technology – the geographic location of the building site also plays a significant role; only in combination does the possible funding standard emerge 😉

So, do I understand correctly that the developer’s architect, who planned the construction including the KfW requirements, is also supposed to supervise it? 😕

Yes, but only the KfW-related matters.

I am not entirely sure whether the person planning the KFW project is also allowed to supervise it. It could be that the supervision must be carried out by a third party according to the latest Energy Saving Ordinance amendment.

Good point @DerBjoern.
Is there anywhere to read more about this?
Thanks
