Sunny greetings to the forum community!

As we are currently planning our new single-family house, we came across information stating that there can be issues with the KFW 55 certificate related to manual roller shutters. This is because the insulation around the strap winder tends to be too thin.

Has anyone had experience with this?

Regards!

I believe you can neglect that... even with automatic systems, the insulation of the box is lower than that of the rest of the house. Whether a few more watts migrate through the additional 20cm² (8 inches²) is probably almost irrelevant.
We were manually offered KfW55 standard (although back in 2014) – it was not a problem.
Your energy consultant will be the best person to answer this for you.

A colleague of mine built a KfW40 house with Weberhaus and manual roller shutters according to the "old" energy saving regulations.
