Hello everyone,
I have a Kallax shelf on my bathroom floor, which is fully tiled. Unfortunately, I notice that the shelf tends to slip quite easily on the smooth tiles, especially when I open the doors or place heavy items inside.
Now I am considering whether an anti-slip mat under the Kallax shelf would be useful to reduce the risk of slipping. Has anyone had experience with anti-slip mats under furniture on tiled floors?
I am particularly interested in which materials work best, whether the mats leave residues afterward, and if there are alternatives to keep the shelf securely in place on the floor.
I appreciate any tips and recommendations!

One more practical tip:
When buying a non-slip mat, make sure it’s not too "fluffy," otherwise the shelf will wobble again. 🙂
A thin but grippy mat is ideal, so nothing slips and everything stays level.
Also: If you’re not constantly moving the Kallax, the mat can compress a bit after a few weeks and then it will hold really firmly!

I would always recommend a mat with a closed surface that is easy to clean and does not allow moisture to pass through.

Whether the mats leave any residue later onWell, I once had a non-slip mat under my shoe cabinet, and over time, nothing peeled off or got discolored at all.
The key is just to keep the tiles clean regularly so that neither dirt nor adhesive residue builds up.
A good mat really makes a big difference and is a super simple solution. It’s a bit like a little everyday magic trick 😉.
