jaleoHello everyone,
I removed the doors from my IKEA Kallax shelf to repair them. After reinstalling, the doors no longer close properly; they either remain slightly open or get stuck on the frame. The hinges appear undamaged, but I suspect they need to be adjusted.
My specific question is: How can I adjust the Kallax doors after a repair so that they close properly and sit flush within the frame? Which screws are responsible for this adjustment, and what should I pay special attention to in order to avoid further warping or rubbing?
Thanks for your tips!

Carefully turn the lateral adjustment until the door sits flush, then adjust the depth so it closes smoothly. Quickly check that the hinges are not bent.

Have you checked whether the doors themselves are already warped, for example due to moisture or the repair materials?
I recommend making sure all mechanical components are intact and not deformed before making any adjustments. Otherwise, even the best micro-adjustments won’t help much. It might also be worth trying to adjust one hinge at a time, in small steps, testing the closing repeatedly instead of adjusting everything at once.
Are the hinges original, or have they been replaced?

But keep in mind: with Kallax, you often need a bit of patience to find the perfect adjustment. Simply turn the adjustment screws in small increments, about two millimeters (0.08 inches) at a time, first in one direction and then back again. Sometimes lifting the door slightly while adjusting can help prevent misalignment.
Don’t worry— with a bit of care, you’ll get the door fitting perfectly again. 🙂
Good luck!
