Hello everyone, I recently bought a KALLAX shelving unit from IKEA and am now trying to fit the matching doors, but they simply won’t hang properly. The doors don’t seem to fit into the designated tracks and get stuck in several places, even though I assembled exactly the recommended door model. Are there any special tricks or tips for what might be causing this? Could there be production differences in the doors, or is the shelving unit incorrectly assembled? I have checked the drill holes and the measurements seem correct, yet it still doesn’t work. Thanks in advance for your help!

1. First, check if the shelf is level – uneven surfaces can make mounting difficult.
2. Remove the door module and inspect the mechanism – hinges and clips must engage precisely in the corresponding holes.
3. If the doors stick, you can slightly adjust the hinges. IKEA hinges allow minimal movement for fine-position adjustment.
4. If the rail is bent, try to carefully reshape it using a wooden block and hammer, but proceed with caution.
5. Finally, repeatedly inserting and removing the module often helps the mechanism to “settle” in.
This approach has helped me many times with similar issues.

Dimensions from the product description and assembly instructions must be followed precisely. Even slight deviations, for example in height, can cause the door not to fit into the shelving unit. When purchasing, it is better to use the exact corresponding replacement parts.

In addition to the points already mentioned, I would like to highlight a frequently overlooked cause:
The plastic guides or stoppers on the doors or in the shelving unit may be damaged or incorrectly installed. Sometimes they are not flush, which can prevent the door from opening smoothly.
Furthermore, I recommend checking that the door hinges are firmly seated. Loose hinges can cause misalignment when attempting to hang the door.
If none of these checks resolve the issue, contacting customer service may be advisable, as a manufacturing defect could be present.
