Hello everyone, I have a specific question regarding KALLAX shelves and the removal of cat hair, especially in the corners. My cat is currently shedding a lot, and the hair sticks very well in the corners and edges of the KALLAX shelf. I find it quite difficult to clean thoroughly and permanently, as the fur seems to get into every tiny gap.

I’m interested in what techniques and tools you use to effectively remove cat hair from the corners and gaps of a KALLAX shelf. Does anyone have experience with special brushes, vacuum cleaner attachments, or maybe home remedies that work particularly well in hard-to-reach places?

Also, I would like to know if there are preventive measures to stop cat hair from accumulating so much in these inaccessible corners.

I look forward to any helpful tips, as I’m looking for a simple and clean long-term solution without having to disassemble the shelf completely.

The issue of KALLAX and persistent cat hair can be quite challenging, especially in the corners and edges.

My recommendation is to use flexible vacuum attachments with narrow nozzles specifically designed for corners. This allows you to reach into tight spaces quite well without having to dismantle the shelving unit.

Electrostatic microfiber cloths are also helpful, as they attract hair due to their static charge. For corners, you can wrap such cloths around a thin spatula or ruler to roll them precisely into tight spots.

Be cautious when KALLAX is made with wood-based materials to avoid scratches. If needed, operate the vacuum on a low suction setting and avoid using sharp tools.

Cat hair on the KALLAX is best removed by using a rubber brush first and then vacuuming, especially in corners. Microfiber cloths also help.

Some structured tips for cleaning KALLAX corners when dealing with cat hair issues:

1. Preparation: Remove all items from the shelves to ensure full access.

2. Use a vacuum cleaner with a narrow attachment, which allows you to reach deep into corners and gaps.

3. A rubber brush with soft bristles works great for loosening hair from wood fibers and edges.

4. For very tight spots, wrap a microfiber cloth around a small rod to specifically pull out hair.

5. Afterwards, wipe with a damp cloth—be careful not to use too much moisture to avoid damaging the material.

6. As a preventive measure, regularly brush your cat’s fur to reduce shedding in the room.

Incorrect cleaning can cause superficial damage, so it is better to use gentle methods.

Wow, I totally relate! Cat hair in the corners is a nightmare, but with the right tricks, it’s manageable! 🙂

I highly recommend trying the rubber glove method: just put on some gloves, dampen them slightly, and then rub the corners of the KALLAX. The hair sticks really well and is much easier to gather.

Give it a try—it’s even a bit fun, and the relief when the corners are clean is huge! Good luck 🙂

A vacuum cleaner with a crevice tool is actually the best option. It reaches deep into the corners of the KALLAX and removes almost all hairs.
