HausMattHello home builders,
I have two questions regarding the joints between semi-detached houses.
The two semi-detached units are staggered, meaning the pink and the white walls in the pictures are perpendicular to each other.
1) Flexible joint at plaster profile
Is a flexible joint required between the plaster profile and the white wall (see the following image)?

2) Existing opening
Above the black sealant, there is still an opening about a thumb’s width, through which you can reach into the gap between the two semi-detached houses.
Is it absolutely necessary to seal this opening?
Although the opening is not visible in the picture, I have included it to illustrate the situation.

Thank you in advance for your assessments.
