Hello everyone,

We are currently building our house and would like to ask for your advice.
Right now, the windows are being installed, and we noticed that the frame sizes on the left and right sides are not the same. On the right side, the depth is 13.5 cm (5.3 inches), while on the left side it is 14.5 cm (5.7 inches). Although everything is level, it makes me a bit concerned why the installer didn’t ensure that both sides have the same depth during installation.
Window installer’s statement: everything is fine, within tolerance.
Architect’s statement: everything is fine.

Please don’t get me wrong—although we are talking about millimeters, I am the one paying for everything and therefore expect everything to be done 100 percent correctly.

So my question is: Is this still acceptable within tolerances, or should I be concerned in the future?

Thank you very much

Nothing at all works perfectly on a construction site. Besides, the walls will be plastered anyway, so where exactly is your problem here??

What matters to me is that it would be possible if you take a few more minutes.
I can imagine how the mistake happened:
When drilling the angles or the frame, it shifted.
The few millimeters (inches) don’t bother me, of course, since visually, as you already said, it’s not noticeable. However, the question was more about the functionality because the windows are not small, and forces are involved.

How should this affect things?

Over time, the opening and closing does not operate smoothly, or you have to lift the window yourself and place it in the correct position.

Nonsense, each sash is adjusted separately, and over time there will be some warping anyway.
