ᐅ Is this a concrete carport? Or is it made of wood or aluminum?

Hello dear forum,

can someone tell me what type of construction this kind of carport is and which suppliers offer it?
We want a width of 7m (23 feet) since our entrance is on the side and we don’t want the cars directly in front of the house. Is it still possible without middle supports?

I really like the look. A wooden carport doesn’t seem to suit our shed roof, and we don’t like aluminum either.

What is the approximate price range for something like this?
Width 7m (23 feet), length 7m (23 feet) or 8m (26 feet)

Kind regards and have a nice weekend!

So you would place a single carport right on the boundary line and only a parking space between the carport and the house?

Correct.

And I have no idea about the budget. Is it in the range of a double garage?
I know my example picture is from Massa Haus. To me it’s not really in the “exclusive” or “high-end” category.

That’s why I wrote, don’t be fooled by the modest 9.36 m (31 feet) side length of the house. The carport in the example picture fits more with the Mercedes and Audi shown alongside it. I agree with the cost estimate of @tomtom79. This level of upscale budget is not due to the “render finish” but rather the “my uncle owns a concrete plant” look.

It’s a modest solution, but doable, common, and something that doesn’t negatively affect life (except for a few scratches per year).

Modesty doesn’t mean stupidity, especially considering how many cars operate without a roof

I’d like to add something: a car parked in a garage stays generally cleaner and drier, and over the years, this really makes a difference. I like to keep my car clean and don’t replace it every three years, so I make sure no leaves get into gaps and no resin gets on the paint. A carport is only a budget stopgap, not a real substitute.

Moreover, the effort required for clearing brush in the Black Forest is quite different from that in the Lower Rhine region. Aside from that, I would expect a timber frame construction with steel beams in the roof area, especially with a timber house builder like DFH.

A parasol on stilts would, of course, be an extremely basic carport and ineffective against the wind.

I usually speculate enthusiastically, but when the source is known, I prefer asking over guessing.

In this forum, does everything always have to be top quality and as expensive as possible?

What is wrong with a simple timber frame construction? The long overhang extending along the front of the house will not be cantilevered either: a strong engineered wood beam is attached to the gable wall of the house and extends one meter (3 feet) forward toward the street. Roof beams run parallel to the ridge direction of the house and rest on this beam; in front of the house, there are also short beams extending over the entrance door. The entire structure is clad with plastic siding panels that have a plaster finish. From a few meters (yards) away, you can no longer see any joints between the siding panels.

This also creates the thick appearance, as the roof beams and the supporting beam running at a 90° angle are enclosed within the cladding.

First of all, thank you to everyone!

I have received some information and food for thought.
