danbla35Is there an IKEA Platsa community specifically for creative DIY projects?
I am currently focusing more on the PLATSA system from IKEA because its flexibility and modular design make it especially suitable for customized space solutions. I am wondering if, beyond the typical furnishing tips, there is an active community dedicated to creative modifications, adaptations, or even completely custom constructions based on PLATSA.
The purpose of my inquiry is to find places where people can exchange ideas, receive constructive feedback, and perhaps get instructions or tips for practical implementation beyond the official templates.
I would appreciate any suggestions on how and where to best connect—whether there are forums, groups, or platforms with this focus—and if anyone could share their own experiences on how creatively the system can be adapted without relying heavily on new materials.

The demand for a dedicated IKEA PLATSA community for DIY projects is understandable.
Due to its modularity and extensive combination possibilities, PLATSA is an interesting system for personalized design. However, to my knowledge, there is currently no standalone community focused exclusively on PLATSA.
The system is mostly discussed within general furniture or IKEA forums.
One approach to connecting users could be a targeted collection of projects in forums using tags or special sections for PLATSA. This increases the visibility of projects and encourages exchange.
So far, I have not identified any specific platforms that cover PLATSA exclusively.

In some large, well-known furniture DIY forums, you can often find dedicated threads and collections focused on PLATSA modifications.
I have personally built several modular solutions and can confirm that it’s worth working through the projects step by step, as the interaction between miter cuts on the carcasses and the adjustment of the doors to the original ideas is always different.
If anyone wants, feel free to ask specific questions about implementation here or share your ideas – this way, the community can grow.
To add to that: I share a similar view to Ramon4.
What I find particularly interesting is how creative some members are in adapting the PLATSA components to create a small office or even a niche within an apartment.
Often, standard pipes and brackets are added to build, for example, open shelves or desk extensions. Sometimes even wooden claddings are used for a warmer appearance.
The challenge is that such projects are rarely gathered in one place but are scattered across many channels.
If there is interest, perhaps we could start a collection here to bring these projects together?

As a concrete example: I’m considering building a combination of PLATSA cabinets and open shelves to create a kind of room divider. It’s important that the system is sturdy enough to support some plants, books, and small decorative items. At the same time, it should look visually open.
Does anyone have tips on how to increase stability through adjustments to the standard parts without resorting to major modifications or adding costly extra materials?
Looking forward to your suggestions!
