I am considering materials like films, fabrics, or other alternatives that can visually alter the surface without the need for paint or lacquer.

Hey!

From my experience, adhesive films for furniture are a great option if you want to stay flexible. If you use a good-quality film, it usually comes off without leaving any residue. Sometimes you need a hairdryer or a heat gun to soften the adhesive and make the film easier to peel off.

This works really well without damaging the surface underneath. Painting is a different matter—you will eventually have to sand or scrape, which can affect the surface.

So: for a temporary makeover without much effort, films are excellent and can quickly refresh any room. Just be brave and give it a try!
