Hello, we moved in 2014. Last year, the heating system had occasional malfunctions until some new software was installed. OTHERWISE, the heating technician always said: try a "cold start," meaning turn off the circuit breaker and restart. This year the problem has started again, and now the heating is acting up once more. Does the 5-year warranty from the builder also cover the heating system installed by him? We paid the builder in full.
Hi,
I see two options:
1. Take the opportunity to install a new heat pump from a different manufacturer that qualifies for BAFA funding.
2. “Pressure” the manufacturer with option 1 and insist on a favorable goodwill solution, since it seems to be a model-related issue.
However, it would be helpful to know exactly what kind of damage it is. If the heat pump was installed in a way that prevents gentle operation, the next one might also fail soon.
Therefore:
1. What exactly is the damage?
2. Is the heat pump fixed-speed or modulating?
3. What is the heating load and the minimum/maximum heating capacity?
4. How many compressor starts has the defective heat pump gone through?
